FYI: Supplements Aren’t Snacks

Imagine taking a spoonful of pills to boost your workout game, and then you flip a coin:

Heads, you get exactly the energy boost you wanted.

Tails, you get liver damage for life.

This is exactly why I don’t endorse supplement brands, and probably never will.

What works for others might not work for you, so never buy into the hype just because someone you admire promotes them on their page.

I learned this lesson the hard way.

Early on in my fitness journey, I saw my favorite influencer promoting a protein powder called Shakeology. I bought it without a second thought.

If it worked for them, it would work for me, right?

For 6 months, I took it every day, even though it cost double as the other options.

Then I finally checked the label — it wasn’t protein powder, it was a meal replacement shake.

I’d been scammed.

Here’s what influencers DON’T tell you:

They stand by their affiliates because they stand to make a buck. They don’t always have your best interests at heart.

Only YOU can do that.

This experience taught me some valuable lessons:

▪️ Respecting your body means doing your research. Never compromise on expertise if you need it.

▪️ Nutrition is NOT a one-size-fits-all. Any decision you make, including supplements, should be based on your unique needs.

▪️ Ask a BILLION questions. If it’s stuff you’re putting in your body, there’s never too many.

For 7 years on social media, I’ve stuck to these ideas. I endorse products I believe in, but never in a way that benefits me more than you.
